GLACIER
DISCOVERY

Experience the mighty Vatnajökull, the biggest glacier in Europe.  On this extended half-day tour we head higher up on a nearby outlet glacier called Falljökull, named for the incredible icefall full of blue ice we will explore.

We depart our meeting point at Freysnes gas station with all our glacier gear. After a carbon-neutral super jeep ride through the glacier valley we strap on our crampons, grab our ice axe and begin the journey up over 300m to the ice fall. Surrounded by blue ice and peaks carved by glaciers we’ll have our eyes peeled for crevasses, moulins, waterfalls and any other fun features that spring up in the dynamic landscape.

During the hike your guide will tell you about the geography and history of the area, as well as the fascinating ice features on the way.

This tour is for those looking for an in-depth glacier experience in Iceland, perfect for those who enjoy long hikes, or just looking for a bit of an adventure.
