We are proudly a part of an Icelandic tourist broad certification.  What it really means is: “Any party that wishes to operate as a tour operator or a travel agency shall obtain a licence from the Icelandic Tourist Board for this purpose. The licence certificate shall be issued by the Icelandic Tourist Board and the licence holder is obliged to make it visible to customers at his centre of operations. The Icelandic Tourist Board shall be in possession of a graphic logo which the holder is permitted to use on the issue of the licence. This logo is to be used by the licence holder in any advertising of his operations and on his home page. A licence for the operation of a tour operator and a travel agency does not carry a time limit. Only those who have obtained a licence from the Icelandic Tourist Board are authorised to include the terms tour operator or travel agency in the name of their operation.” You can read more about the travel agency requirements in Iceland.

The project of Icelandic Tourist Board aims to help tourism operators welcome their customers safely and responsibly during the Covid-19 pandemic. The project has been approved by the Health inspection authorities in Iceland and  World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). It can be expected that Covid – 19 will change the travel habits and needs of people with different emphases and changed attitudes. New standards, new values and other requirements are expected to emerge. It is important that the tourism industry adapts to this new reality and that the tourism operators are willing to receive customers in a safe and responsible way.
