Amazing experience
Visiting an ice cave has always been a dream of mine so choosing Local guide seemed to be the perfect choice. All was well organized, our guide was helpful, cared for all of us, making sure we walk at comfortable for all pace , explaining all about the caves and glaciers, being patient with all of us, picture taking and awing at all around us. We booked the 'Ice Cave Tour' and this was one of the coolest experiences I have ever had! Getting to walk on a glacier and then go into a cave within it was just awesome! Emma was our guide and she was so delightful and friendly and was happy to answer everyones questions. I really enjoyed learning about the area and all about the glacier. Great tour company
The tour company was great. Easy to find. Alex was a great guide. Be advised the caves change year to year based on summer run off. This years cave was not impressive. It was more like a large tunnel. The scenery was still beautiful. These conditions are out of the tour companies control. You may want to inquire prior to booking.

Fun ride on Zodiac Boat in Glacier Lagoon!
This was a fun adventure in a zodiac boat to get up close to the Jökulsárlón Glacier. Our guide Eric was very knowledgeable and informative. You will pass close to several icebergs as you get close to the glacier. We were able to see an arctic seal on one of the floating chunks of ice. Depending on the time of year, it’s a fast and chilly ride out to the glacier, so dress accordingly.

Una experiència molt bona! Ens van avisar el dia d’abans per retardar la hora pel temps. Un cop allà el nostre guia (Keith) va ser genial explicant-nos coses de la glacera, a la caminada amb grampons, a la cova i després fins al llac. Molt amable i atent. Molt recomanable

Memorable & great!
This was a great experience! We did it as a family with our 10yo & it was a totally doable trek. You need the right outdoor clothing - it started raining & was important to have clothing that was waterproof. Caves were beautiful. Wycieczka po lodowcu była po prostu super! Niesamowite widoki i niezapomniane wrażenia na całe życie.
Ogromna w tym zasługa naszej przewodniczki, Igi, która była mega profesjonalna. Od początku imponowała wiedzą, dbała o nasze bezpieczeństwo i o świetną atmosferę.

Outstanding customer service and an unforgettable tour
We had an absolutely amazing experience with Local Guide Iceland. From the very beginning, they were incredibly helpful in informing us about all our options and what was possible for our trip. Due to a change in our travel plans, we had to modify our booking, and the team made the process completely stress-free. They were super easy to get in touch with, responsive, and provided top-notch customer service. As for the tour itself, it was fantastic! Our guide, Alex, was spectacular and made the experience truly special. The tour was easily one of the absolute highlights of our entire trip to Iceland. It was a rainy tour experience so we were soaked in the rain. We should have prepared better clothes for this weather. Experience was one of a kind. You have to walk on ice for hours to reach the ice caves.

An absolutely incredible experience – worth every minute!

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland! We did the 6-hour glacier hiking and ice cave experience, and honestly, it was worth every minute. I would definitely recommend choosing the longer option, as I’m not sure how much you would get to see with a shorter tour.

Our guide Lucy Ann and Damian, were absolutely fantastic. They were incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive throughout the entire experience, always making sure we felt safe and comfortable on the glacier.

They really went the extra mile to show us as much as possible. It was actually the first day of the season that the glacier was open for visitors, and they even took the time to build some additional access points on the spot so that we could explore caves that they themselves had only just discovered!

It made the experience feel genuinely special and adventurous, rather than like a standard tour where you simply follow a predetermined route.

A huge kudos to Lucy Ann and Damian for their enthusiasm, knowledge and dedication. They clearly love what they do and it showed throughout the entire experience.

I would recommend this experience without hesitation. If you're considering it, go for the longer tour — you won't regret it!

Die Tour auf den Gletscher und die Eishöhlen war super! Die Fahrt dort hin war abenteuerlich isländisch, aber mit klasse Aussicht ;) Unser Guide hat einen tollen Job gemacht! Grüße gehen raus. Würden die Tour wieder machen. Unbedingt machen (eher bei Sonnenschein für den besseren Effekt in der Höhle)

It was a great experience, I truly recommend it. The guides were kind and the glacier is amazing. They let us did the experience even if it rained all day. Most of all, the company is efficient and kind. We had the tour planned for the morning at 9 but an issue with the car prevented us to be there in the morning. The company promptly and quickly replied to our message (even though we contacted them at 8:30 pm), giving different options to postpone our activity without loosing any money.

La nostra guida, Thomas, è stata fantastica. Ha accompagnato l’escursione con delle spiegazioni semplici e curiosità. Il ghiacciaio è meraviglioso, abbiamo avuto l’opportunità, nonostante fosse il 1 ottobre, di visitare ben due grotte di ghiaccio. Ne vale assolutamente la pena!

We had a fantastic experience, and our guide Damian was excellent. He was very attentive, answered all our questions with great patience, and made sure we had plenty of time to take photos in the most beautiful parts of the cave. Super Guide

氷河のけっこう上のほうまで登りました。 クレバスの生成やモレーンの話など面白かったです。 なかなか他ではできない体験だと思いました。 バスではなく4輪駆動車で氷河に近いところまで行けるのも、無駄に歩くところが少なくて良かった点です。

Good guide, worth it
Our guide Thorir was amazing. He was knowledgeable, down to earth, experienced and safe and even took some pictures for us. There is a 25 minute drive from the pickup point and about an hour on the glacier. You learn a ton and we got to do two small ice caves.

Amazing experience!
My family and I did the four hour glacier hike in July 2026 with Local Guide. The four of us were part of a group of eight (I believe that’s the max group size). Our guide was Michal (from Poland!) and he was simply excellent! From start to finish Michal was friendly, informative, patient and fun. The hike on the glacier and the scenery was stunning and was one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland - what a beautiful country. Best glacier tour ever
We had an incredible experience exploring the glacier! Michel's guidance was exceptional—he shared fascinating history about the glacier, ensured our safety, and made the tour unforgettable. Awesome Hike
We had an amazing day hiking the glacier with Damien. He is FANTASTIC, very knowledgeable. He took care to make sure our small group stayed safe & together.  We chose the moderate/advanced hike - it was a top 10 experience & the highlight of our trip. The fog began to lift as we were at the 2nd plateau & we were greeted by amazing views & landscape. Amazing experience
We had such an amazing time with Kish as our guide! Once in a lifetime experience for sure! We felt really safe and we learned a lot of mountaineering skills and interesting stuff about the gorgeous glacier!
